Other Functionality
- Managing DL memberships: you don't need to use outlook to edit DL memberships if you have AutoDL. See here:
- If your Mac's IP address changes, then you need to quit and restart Entourage to reconnect to the Exchange server.
- If mail or mail folders are lost, dumpster may retrieve them. More info
- Compacting an Entourage database may cause duplication of mail messages. To fix, delete and recreate the account in Entourage. This same problem causes problems with message dates, which may cause strange behavior in Outlook such as failure to archive seemingly old messages.
- Latency: Entourage talks to the Entourage database, and the database synchronizes to the Exchange server, this is the same model that Outlook 2003 in Cached mode uses. The synchronization is not instantaneous and the user can't trigger it directly. A Quit/Switch identity will force a sync of pending changes in Entourage to the server.
- If a user connects to an exchange account from Entourage before any other client connects, then Exchange folders may be created using the server's localization instead of Entourage's. A workaround is to use OWA or Outlook to connect to the account for the first time.
- If you have duplication of items, you can try these tools:
- In Outlook: http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/remove_duplicates/
- In Entourage: See Duplicates
